Come in with your questions. Only $5.00 per session. New Classes COOKIE A'S MONKEY SOCKS Amy Decker, Instructor First Session Saturday, April 30th, 1:00-4:00 Additional two sessions to be determined by students and instructor A popular sock pattern from the Winter '06 issue of Knitty.com (http://knitty.com/ISSUEwinter06/PATTmonkey.html). A great pattern for introducing yourself to the worlds of socks, lace, and funky handpainted yarns. If you haven't tried one of those tempting multi-color handpainted or self-striping sock yarns, this is a great pattern to show off the yarn without overwhelming the simple lace design. Single color yarns will also work well. Amy will be using the double-pointed needles method of knitting in the round. However, students may use whatever method with which they are most comfortable. The class is designed for the intermediate knitter or the adventurous advanced beginner looking for a challenge. Techniques used: knitting and purling in the round, increases, decreases, yarn overs, knit 2 togethers, twisted stitches, short-row shaping, picking up stitches, grafting, and chart reading. It sounds like a lot, but Amy will walk students through each part of the sock by focusing on one area at a time. If a student is unable to make one of the sessions or feels the need for a little extra help, Amy is willing to arrange another time with them. $46.00 for 3 sessions plus cost of materials. REVERSIBLE LOTUS BLOSSOM HAT Pat Pennock, Instructor Thursday, May 19th and 26th, 5:30-7:30 A Moebius is the beginning of this well-fitting hat. Check out Cat Bordhi's A Treasury of Magical Knitting, which is required for this 2-session class. Best to have some knowledge of increasing and decreasing before trying this fun knitting. $34.00 for 2-session class plus cost of materials EASY LACE CAPELET/PONCHO Pat Pennock Instructor Saturday, June 4th, 1:30-3:30 Sessions 2 and 3 to be determined by students and instructor. The feather and fan stitch used in this Fiber Trends pattern, might help you unravel the mysteries of yarn overs and knit 2 togethers. The wrap may also be constructed with a simple garter stitch. $46.00 plus cost of pattern and materials SCALLOPED BEADED SCARF Carol Harding, Instructor Saturday, April 2nd, 1:00-4:00 If you need help after that, we'll make individual arrangements. Skills to be applied include knitting a hem, picking up a sleeve at the shoulders and determining the rate of decrease to the cuff, making a steek for the armholes (optional) and working with two colors simultaneously. You can make either a child's or adult's version. There are samples of both in the shop - check them out! $36.00 for classes plus cost of materials EZ'S THREE & ONE CARDIGAN Bobbie Dolp, Instructor To be determined Times for remaining classes to be determined by instructor and class participants, and can meet as many times as necessary to complete the project. The folks at Schoolhouse Press consider this sweater to be the best of Elizabeth Zimmerman's color-pattern designs. The magic of it is in the regular rotation of 3 colors on a background in patterns which never repeat themselves; there is a delightful rhythm of 3 stitches of one color, 1 stitch of another with an occasional plain round. This sweater can be either a cardigan or pullover, any size. Techniques include stranding, making a steek and setting in sleeves. It knits up quite quickly. See the store samples at the rose & Ram. $36.00 for classes plus cost of materials. THE MAGIC OF DOUBLE KNITTING Yvonne Cutright , Instructor Will be repeated in the Fall Years ago, I took this class with Yvonne when I owned Molehill Farm - one of the best classes I have ever taken! Had a lot of fun and became just a little obsessed (okay sock knitters) with knitting gloves.
