BEGINNING KNITTING & BEYOND BEGINNING
Pat Pennock, Instructor
Beginning - Saturday, 9/20, 9/27 & 10/11, 10:00-12:00

In the past, knitting was the occupation of shepherds, sailors, 13th
& 14th century guild apprentices and even royal knitters in the
court of Henry VIII! Knitting basically uses only two stitches - the
knit stitch and the purl stitch. Once you learn these two stitches,
the possibilities are endless! In addition to basic knitting, such
topics such as utilizing different knitting techniques, correcting
mistakes, how to read patterns, and other related issues will be
covered. Today, Hand knit sweaters sell for hundreds of dollars -
an incentive to learn how to knit your own!

$35.00 for three 2-hour classes plus cost of materials.

BEGINNING CROCHET
Elise Clason, Instructor
Three sessions begin Friday, 9/26 or 10/24, 4:00-6:00

SOCKS ON CIRCS
Jan Johnson, Instructor
Thursday, 10/16, 10/23 & 10/30, 5:30-7:30

This is a brilliant technique which you may well have heard! Two
circular needles are used to knit a sock. One half of the sock is
worked off the points of one circular needle, while the other needle
"rests", which creates just enough of a bend to give the working
needles the angle they need. This technique can also be used for
cuffs, hats and any other project calling for double-pointed needles.

$35.00 for three 2-hour classes plus cost of materials.
