WE WERE SUCCESSFUL...

Springtime was busy for us again at Rose & Ram Farm. We had four sets of
healthy twins arrive throughout April and May. Our goal was to breed our ram,
Thorn, to ewes who would produce lambs with black to silver fleeces and we
got pretty much what we wanted!

Momma Rebecca is a black or Shaela. She gave us twin girls, Naomi and
Nirvana. Naomi started out black with white markings on her head. Now she is
a little puffball of silver with black tips - quite pretty. Little Nirvana started out
with a black fleece and has remained the same.

Miranda is also a black fleeced ewe. She gave us twin boys, Hadji and Bandit.
Hadji started out black and is still a black. Bandit is black and white. Quite an
adorable little guy but does he ever have "the attitude!"

Chloe is a Moorit (reddish brown). She gave us twin boys, Race and Bannon
(sound familiar to you Johnny Quest fans?). Race started out as a moorit like
his mom but has changed to a fawn with reddish brown tips. His markings are
so unique and he has a very nice attitude. We may keep him as a ram for
breeding. His brother, Bannon, still has a very black fleece and is still very
attached to his mom.

Not to be outdone, there is Betha. Betha was not one of the ewes we had
planned for pregnancy. Thorn broke in to her pasture and "chose" her. We are
glad he did because she gave us the most adorable little twin girls, Martha and
Abigail...silver undercoat fleeces with black outercoats. They both have very
loving personalities, and does Abigail ever have a voice!

So, there you have it. Eight new Sheepkids to add to the flock. I have posted
some of their early pics and will get more current photos up as I find the time.
