What's New at the Rose & Ram

Featured Yarn

Our featured yarn is Louet's Euroflax Sportweight Linen.
This machine washable and dryable linen yarn softens up more and
more with each washing, making it a great yarn choice for face
cloths, baby items, and pretty much anything not requiring gentle
care. Check out the book
Knitter's Stash by Theresa Gaffey to find
eight great facecloth patterns using this yarn.

For a limited time the
Rose & Ram will be offering this yarn at
10% off the suggested retail price. We are also offering a free
pattern, with yarn purchase, of the
Lacey Linen Stole.

We would like to reacquaint you with
Pagewood Farm's Hand
Dyed Sock Yarn,
Denali. This is a super soft, but super strong
Merino Superwash and Nylon blend (80/20). It comes in clear
colorways with 450 yards per skein, giving a knitter plenty of
length for a full pair of socks. This yarn is hand-dyed in small
batches, giving you a unique, one of a kind product.

The
Rose & Ram is pleased to offer you great tone on tone color
choices (all the better to see your patterned socks with!).

Give your needles a treat with the
Rose & Ram's own
Sheepkid's Yarn. This 100% Shetland wool yarn comes in a
delicious natural palette, and accompanies a small picture and
name of the
Sheepkid you are knitting with. The beauty of
Shetland wool is that it washes so nicely. After washing, it develops
a softness and bloom that is hard to resist. Amazingly, every year
the Sheepkids' colors change.  So make certain you purchase
enough yarn for your project as we will never be able to duplicate
that color again!

We can't forget
Silk n Ewe by Mountain Colors. This hand-
painted DK weight yarn is a  raw silk and wool blend - a real
pleasure to work with. Check out the
Juliet Shell, a pattern from
Green Mountain Spinnery, at the shop - one of the many
beautiful samples to inspire at the
Rose & Ram. Rivertwist is
yet another yarn from
Mountain Colors. It's a hand-dyed
worsted weight yarn that is incredibly soft and sensuous...It's all
good...

New to the
Rose & Ram are three yarns from Conjoined
Creations
. First off is Flat Feet - a hand-dyed 80% superwash
merino/20% nylon blend sock yarn. The concept is to knit directly
from a flat which unravels easily to afford comfortable knitting in
any environment. Just toss the flat over your shoulder and knit
away! The entire flat is approximately 400 yards and is enough to
make a pair of average adult socks. We recently received our
shipment so shop now while there are still colors to choose from.

Next up is
Pastimes - a 100% soysilk fine lace weight yarn put up
in 480 yard skeins. Knit on a size 2 needle, gauge is 32 stitches at 4
inches. The names of the colorways are very fun. Grouped as
collections, the individual color names reflect activities from the
1960s. The Rose & Ram has the Game Collection featuring colors
in
Sorry, Clue, and Twister; the Literature Collection featuring
colors in
Valley of the Dolls, In Cold Blood, and Up the Down
Staircase
; lastly the TV Collection with Betwitched, Bonanza, and
the
Ed Sullivan Show.

Last but not least is Surfs Up. This yarn recalls the Beach Scene of
the 1960s. Fiber content is 59% soysilk and 41% polyester; a DK
weight packaged in 200 yard skeins and is hand-dyed as well. Size
7 needles are recommended to give a gauge of 24 stitches at 4
inches. With names like
Summer Blonde, Pacific Ocean, Wipeout,
Hang Ten
, and Pipeline - what a gas! (Pat's yarn choice for
Knitting Pure and Simple's  Neck Down Tee.)

Also,
Punta del Este Natural Fiber Yarns South American
Cotton
. This is a bulky hand or space-dyed cotton that is
incredibly soft to the touch. A little goes a long way since this is a
bulky weight yarn. Recommended needles size is 10-11. Knit up
baby blankets, little summer tank tops, shrugs, pillows - let your
imagination soar.
